Our story

A finance practice with a long memory

MortgageHQ formally launched in 2023, but the experience behind it stretches back to 2001. Our principal team has been arranging finance for Australian families, business owners and investors since the early 2000s — through booms, corrections, the GFC, the post-COVID rate environment and everything in between.

That depth of experience is hard to replicate. We've seen what good lending structure looks like across multiple cycles, and we've watched what happens to borrowers when the structure was wrong. That memory shapes every recommendation we make.

Since 2008, our focus has been almost entirely on mortgage and property finance — residential, commercial, investment and SMSF — giving us the kind of depth in a single discipline that you can only build over many thousands of transactions.

We listen before we recommend

Every engagement starts with a long conversation. We want to understand your income structure, your goals over the next 5–10 years, your tax position and how this loan fits the rest of your financial picture.

We're independent — genuinely

We're not aligned to any single lender. Our income is broker-side commissions that are largely uniform across the lender panel, so there's no financial incentive to push one product over another.

We work with your advisers

Your accountant knows your tax position. Your financial planner knows your investment thesis. Your solicitor manages your structures. We collaborate with all of them so your loan structure doesn't undermine the rest of the plan.

We solve the hard ones

Easy deals are easy everywhere. We're at our best when the file is complex — multiple entities, irregular income, prior credit issues, ATO debt, short trading history. That's where 25 years of pattern recognition pays off.

We stay involved post-settlement

Most brokers disappear once your loan settles. We schedule a review at 12 months and again every 18–24 months to make sure your loan still fits as your circumstances and the rate market move.

We document everything in writing

Recommendations, comparisons, reasoning, fees and commissions — all provided in writing before you commit. You'll never be guessing what we recommended or why.
